Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 11:33 - 12:2
Our God is unbelievable! That is the conclusion that the Apostle Paul comes to after writing the first 11 chapters of Romans. God is so unbelievable, His grace so unfathomable, and His love so unforgettable, that Paul breaks out into a song of praise. A song declaring that Jesus is everything and everything is Jesus'. Then immediately after that Paul urges us to give everything we have to Jesus. It is the only reasonable thing to do.
Why do you give what you give? Why do you serve the way you serve? Is it out of a sense of duty? Or are you (like Paul) so overwhelmed by the grace and power of God shown in Christ, that you couldn't imagine not serving Him, loving Him, or following Him.
Take some time and think about The Lord, His grace over you, His wisdom leading you, His mercies that are new each day. Ask Him to help you to see Him more clearly and to respond in the only way that would ever make sense; by giving all of who you are as an act of worship and sacrifice to Him. When we point our heart this way, He transforms us from the inside out into the people we have always been designed to be.
